Summer Undergraduate Research Position - UofT (MIE)

The Centre for Social Services Engineering is recruiting Summer research students
who are interested in developing and applying innovative computational methods
for solving problems related to delivering social services to vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities:
The position will involve the following major responsibilities:
· Participate in developing a web-based infrastructure and web user interfaces for an online marketplace called the Social Needs Marketplace (SNM)

Qualifying skills and abilities : Successful applicants should have strong analytical
and programming skills:
· Proficiency in programming languages and protocols such as C/C++,
Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
· Familiarity with development of web applications and designing web-based user interfaces is highly desirable.
· Experience with database development and familiarity with knowledge representation methods is an asset.

Candidates should be working towards Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.

Work term: 4 month
Summer Student position (May – August 2016)
Location: Toronto, ON
