Join Our 2019-2020 FLC Peer Mentor Team

The Learning Communities program in the Faculty of Arts and Science is designed to support the growth and development of students. Our First-Year Learning Communities looks to improve the transition to life at university for first-year students. Our Second-Year Learning Communities, a pilot program, connects second-year students in the same program of study.

To achieve this, our program relies on a team of dedicated and engaged upper-year students to act as peer mentors. As a peer mentor you will design and facilitate bi-weekly sessions for students, collaborate with colleagues, staff and faculty as well as build a community among your students.

We offer FLCs in the following streams of study: Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Economics, Humanities, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Rotman Commerce and Social Science.

If you’re interested in applying, please follow these steps:

  1. On CLNx, read the job description and required qualifications for the FLC you are interested in. On CLNx, you can search “FLC Peer Mentor” and all of the available postings should appear.

  2. Compile your application package. In one PDF document, please include:

  • A Copy of Your Completed Application: FLC-PM-and-APM-Application-2019-2020
  • A Copy of Your Resume
  • A Copy of Your Transcript (A copy of your current ACORN transcript. You do not have to submit an official transcript. A screenshot of your academic history from ACORN will suffice.)
  1. Once you have your package of documents compiled, submit the complete package to the posting you are interested to the online posting on CLNx.

If you have any questions, please e-mail flc@utoronto.ca.
