Hi everyone!

We’re excited to finally announce our Winter 2020 lesson schedule. This semester, we’re experimenting with a slightly different lesson format: our lessons will now be scheduled from 6-8 pm on Thursdays in MADLab, and will happen every other week. We’ve explained why in more detail over on Github.

Before we kick off the term, we’ll be holding a (slightly late!) start-of-term social this Thursday (the 30th January) starting 6 pm at the GSU Pub. While we’d love for you to join us and get to know the exec and other members of the Coders community, we also would particularly like for anyone who is interested in our peer mentorship initiative to come by – we’ll be bringing pizza!

This initiative aims to pair more experienced mentors with students who would like more advanced guidance with applications specific to their field of research (i.e. image processing in Python, analysis of gene expression data, etc.).

Come to our social on Thursday to find out more or sign-up! Space is limited, though we may start up a waitlist if demand is high.

Have a look below to see which sessions you’d like to attend!

Date Session
Jan 30 Start-of-Term Social
Feb 6 Reproducible science in RStudio
Feb 27 Supervised machine learning in Python
March 12 Git: continuous integration with examples in Python
March 26 Programming and Data Wrangling in R with the Tidyverse
