The University of Toronto’s Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Student’s Union presents BioHacks 2021!
We’re looking for innovative students to participate and compete in our upcoming hackathon to create new projects or run analyses on anything related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Date: March 13-14th, 2021
BioHacks 2021 is a virtual bioinformatics hackathon aiming to tackle epidemic health issues raised by COVID-19 through two interconnected streams:
• Stream 1: Computational Methods against Diseases
• Stream 2: Healthcare Tool Development
A variety of events will also be held throughout the two days for when you need a break from hacking, including seminars and workshops from professionals from the industry and academia while networking with like-minded students ready to take on this challenge!
Get together with a team of up to 4 people (teams will be formed for anyone who doesn’t have a team) to develop computational biology skills and turn what you’ve learned to something you’re proud of!
We’ve also got cash prizes up for grabs for the top teams, thanks to our generous sponsors. Prize amounts will be announced during the event!
A more specific itinerary of the schedule and speakers will be posted closer to the event. Please email bcbstudentunion@gmail.com, or contact us on Facebook if you have any questions.
