The Research Readiness Program

The Research Readiness Program

Are you an undergraduate student who will work (or wants to work) in a university research group in the summer, or are interested in summer research in future years? Would you like to know more about how research works, and the skills needed by researchers? Then the following free workshop is for you:

This summer the Impact Centre at U of T offers the Research Readiness Program for undergraduate students who are new to research, or who are interested in summer research work. It is a 2-day non-credit course that covers the common topics that most researchers need to know, such as literature searches, keeping a lab book, technical communication, design of experiments, data analysis, noise sources, etc. This program will make you more productive in summer research positions, allowing you to get started more efficiently.

The two days for the program are Tue. May 2 and Fri. May 5. This is a free, non-credit course. The time investment will be recuperated through increased productivity in research work. Many of the topics will also be useful as students progress towards and through graduate school.
