Software Developer (Junior) –Immediate Need
Job Type: Contract (with possible employment)
Job Location: Ottawa, ON and/or Toronto, ON (Remotely) Starting date: ASAP
The Role:
● Develop software code needed to support an offline voice to intent system embedded on a Raspberry Pi microcontroller. Pi will control external hardware i-o device (maximum 30 words at this stage, with a wake word for activation)
● Utilize java, python and opensource software for implementation
● Trouble shoot as required with updates as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
● Proven experience programming in C, Java, XML, Linux, Python etc.
● Proven ability of rapid prototyping, specifically on microcontrollers and interaction with ARM-Cortex processors considered a benefit
● Experience with IoT, home automation, voice to intent offline solutions and offline AI considered an asset
● Excellent knowledge with relational databases and object-oriented programming
● Strong independent problem solving, diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
● Excellent communication skills, specifically to project guidelines, deliverables and project feedback
● Detail-oriented and excellent concentration ability
● Ability to take direction and work in a time sensitive area
● Demonstrated aptitude and passion for automation and software development
● BSc/BA in computer science (or near completion), software engineering or relevant discipline
