Rotman Finance Lab is hiring new lab assistants!

Hi all,

For those of you interested in the intersection of finance (trading, investments, etc) and technology, the BMO Financial Group Rotman Financial Research and Trading Lab is hiring lab assistants (paid position) for the next school year. Specifically, we are looking for students in Engineering or Computer Science with an interest in finance and software and/or web development. As a Lab Assistant, you will help undergrad and graduate students with the use of financial software such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, etc. In addition, each Lab Assistant will help with planning and preparation of extra-curricular events, including the annual Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) and Commerce Trading Competition (CTC). You will also have the opportunity to work on various development projects, including building and maintaining our websites and portfolio management / trading simulation applications. Being a lab assistant is an excellent opportunity to work in an innovative and unique environment, learn most of the financial software used in the industry and, grow professionally and personally by achieving additional skills.

The Finance Lab:
The Finance Lab employs an enthusiastic team of lab assistants to help students and faculty throughout the year. Lab Assistants work on shifts from 9:00am to 7:00pm every week-day during the semester (September to April) and on an on-call basis from May to August. Lab Assistants are trained before the start of the semester.

Qualifications:
Students who apply for this position should be interested in the field of finance and investments. We are looking for friendly, social, and enthusiastic students who can assist in providing an exciting and enjoyable experience for all the students.
Applicants must have previous programming experience, either through coursework, personal projects, or internships. Experience with object oriented languages (C#, Java, Python) and SQL is desirable. In addition, any previous experience with web programming (HTML, Javascript, Angular, etc) would be a plus.
