NEW495Y (Community Engaged Learning) and NEW497Y (Community Engaged Research) offer 3rd /4th year students the opportunity to explore and ground their academic knowledge outside of the classroom and develop professional skills for the nonprofit sector. Along with placements in community organizations or social service agencies, weekly interdisciplinary seminars provide collective spaces in which to learn from each other and to tussle with the challenges and complexity of social justice work. Reflective learning assignments count toward academic credit.
