Hi UofT Students,
Think you’re sly? Prove it at the The Google Games Waterloo on Saturday, April 15th, 2017. This year’s mission will ask you to embrace your inner super spy. Calling all stealth agents - don’t blow your cover (don’t get burned) and join us for this year’s Google Games - shhhh! this information is confidential.
At The Google Games Waterloo, agents will compete against other students from the University of Toronto and University of Waterloo for victory in challenges that test your brains and creativity to the limit! It’s a quest of fun as teams of five go head to head in rigorous events: coding, word association, and puzzle competitions. If you haven’t caught on just yet, this year’s theme is “Top Secret Mission” so make sure to throw on your best gear from your favorite spy lab and get ready for an action packed event!

FAQ
Q. Can we have fewer than five members on our team?
A. We strongly recommend having the maximum number of members – any less and you’ll lose your competitive edge.
Q. Do you have to be a current student to participate?
A. Yes, you must be a first, second or third-year undergraduate student currently enrolled at the University of Toronto or University of Waterloo. Seniors and graduate students are not eligible to participate.
Q. Can we replace a member before the start of the event?
A. Sure. Just let us know via googlegames@google.com. Be sure to include: the full name and email of the new team member, the full name of who is being replaced, your school name and your team name.
Q. Should our team wear costumes?
A. Show your team’s spirit however you choose: costumes, uniforms, team dance, team flag or poster, cheer, fight song, etc. A prize will be awarded to the team with the most spirit.
Q. Will transportation be provided?
A. Your mission starts with getting yourselves to Google Waterloo! We encourage carpooling (a slick way to travel), as parking on-site will be limited. Or use your stealthy public transportation skills and catch a ride on the Go Train to Google Waterloo. The Kitchener GoTrain station is a quick 7min walk away from Google!
Q. Will food be provided?
A. We will provide lunch, snacks and drinks. If you have any dietary restrictions, please note this in the form and we will be sure to accommodate you.
Q. When will our team receive a confirmation about the Games?
A. After the registration deadline, we will reach out to confirm team selection and provide more details. Not all registered teams will be selected due to space limitations.
Q. Do I need to bring my own laptop?
A. It will give your team a competitive advantage to have all members work from their own laptop in the challenges. If you don’t have your own, see if you can borrow one from a friend. And don’t forget the charger!
