Work-study with CS professor: Software Developer: OpenBadges

A number of CS faculty members have work-study positions available for this

Software Developer: OpenBadges (1 position, 5-8 hours per week, Supervisor: Petersen)

The successful candidate will be responsible for building connections between BadgePack, an open source badge system developed at U of T, and other systems used in courses, such as course discussion boards, PCRS, or the LMS.

Responsibilities will include eliciting use cases, implementing and
testing features, and patching bugs related to the first implementation of a course that is using badges to motivate participation. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and will be expected to adhere to the software process used by the team.

Experience with Python and Javascript is required. Experience with Django and demonstrated interest in usability design are assets.
