[Student Part Time Position] Lab Development Specialist - Finance Research and Trading Lab

The BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab (Finance Lab) is a state-of-the-art facility that focuses on the integration of theoretical and practical applications. It is part of the Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto. Research databases and real-time access to global financial resources allow students to link classroom lessons to actual securities and markets. In addition, our custom-designed suite of instructional products use interactive simulations to develop skills for making good financial decisions when faced with uncertainty about future outcomes. These products include the Rotman Portfolio Manager (RPM) and the Rotman Interactive Trader (RIT) platforms, and the associated simulation cases. In addition, we organize extra curricula activities, such as the Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC), Commerce Trading Competition (CTC), the MBA Trading Competition, and many more.

Qualifications:
We are looking for lab assistants that have knowledge of programming and also have interest in the field of finance and investments. Your main role is to maintain existing in-house software, making enhancements, and also designing new projects and tools.

Applicants should have previous programming experience, either through coursework, personal projects, or internships. Experience with object oriented languages (C#, Java, Python) and SQL is desirable. Knowledge of MATLAB is also helpful. In addition, any previous experience with web programming (HTML, Javascript, Angular, ASP.NET etc) would be an asset.
