Rotman FinTech Summer Projects: Call for CS Students

The Financial Innovation Hub (FinHub) at the Rotman School of Management at UofT is looking for CS undergraduate students to work with an industry sponsor during summer 2018 on a FinTech project.

Each project will be assigned a team of management and technology students consisting of four undergraduate students – two from Rotman Commerce and two from Computer Science. Each team will have a faculty mentor. Each student will work approximately 500 hours during 3-4 months. Brief examples of project topics include:

  • Using bank customer data to construct leading indicators for macro trends.
  • Textual analysis of news stories to guide real-time decision-making.
  • Comparing default prediction from machine learning with standard models.
  • Predicting most likely next sale from past customer purchases.
