Mobile App Developer (iOS or Android)

iamsick.ca is a social enterprise with a laser focus on simplifying access to healthcare by helping Canadians find fast, easy, and appropriate care.

Our digital health platform allows patients to find nearby healthcare providers, book appointments online, see wait times from the comfort of their homes, and avoid long waits with our virtual waiting room. Healthcare providers also benefit from our platform, because we help them deliver care more efficiently.
2018 will be an exciting year for us, as we expand our clientbase & userbase Canada-wide.

We are looking to fill a mobile app developer position to build, iterate & implement a prototype app, and also work on features within the current iamsick.ca mobile app. If you think you’re a good fit, we’d love to hear from you!

What you’ll be doing:

You will work with the company’s President & development team to see through the development of a mobile app prototype and new features in the current iamsick.ca mobile app. Some of your specific tasks may include:

  • Building, refining and implementing an iOS or Android mobile app
  • Design, development, testing and implementation from kick-off to go-live
  • Delivering a high-quality, stable application that fills unmet healthcare needs

What you’ll need:

  • Outstanding communicator who can present information concisely to other team members
  • Knowledge and experience with mobile app development (show us a demo during your interview!)
  • Experience with source control
  • Experience defining & consuming APIs
  • Experience writing test plans
  • Passion for working within an agile technology company
  • Project management skills with an understanding of the big picture & technical nuances
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interest in healthcare & improving access to care

Bonus:

You have worked on a mobile app that was launched and is in the app store

What you’ll achieve:

  • You will create a prototype, and take a mobile app from concept to launch
  • You will work on features in a commercial mobile app that has an active & growing userbase
  • You will learn the challenges faced by early stage companies
  • You will present your work to the company’s President & Lead Developer for feedback
