Intermediate Android Developer in Mapsted Corp.- Mississauga, ON

Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate, self-motivated, organized, and team-oriented mobile developer with specific expertise in Android and object-oriented design, development, and complexity/performance optimization.

Required Background:

  • Minimum 3 years mobile development experience
  • Experience managing full mobile product lifecycle (e.g., building, managing, releasing, publishing, maintaining)
  • Degree in Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong communication skills (orally and in writing)
  • Multiple apps published in Google Play Store

Required Skills (Expertise in most of the following):

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, designs, best practices
  • Ability to write clear, concise, well-structured, and well-organized code
  • Must be able to provide design and feature suggestions
  • Extensive experience in Java, Android SDK framework
  • Ability to manage and mentor junior mobile developers
  • Strong understanding of threading techniques pros/cons
  • Strong understanding of data structures and their respective pros/cons (e.g., types of lists, hash maps,…)
  • Significant experience designing highly flexible user interfaces
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various cross-functional teams
  • Ability to do whatever it takes to deliver results

Beneficial Skills:

  • Innovative thinker with very strong problem solving and risk management skills
  • Innate desire to understand/optimize all components of a system
  • Specific knowledge of security techniques is an asset (e.g., code obfuscation, minimizing vulnerabilities)
  • Ability to identify weaknesses in existing code and improve it
  • Experience implementing smartphone app-based unit/stability testing
  • Familiarity with Kotlin
