Cybersecurity Higher Education Contest

[This opportunity is not affiliated with the Department, the Faculty of Arts & Science, or the University of Toronto. Registration fees may apply. We share this opportunity at the request of the organizers in case it is of interest to our student body. Participation is as the sole discretion of the individual.]

This contest is organized by “Cyber Tech & Risk” and sponsored by RBC, LoyaltyOne, KPMG and others. The 1st place team will win $3,000 and receive a co-op opportunity (for summer or fall 2019 term) from RBC. The competition is open to current university/college students in Ontario. Each contest team consists of 4 students. They are expected to submit their solution to the industry challenge – “People are the weakest link in cybersecurity.” The selected teams will pitch to a judging panel at RBC WaterPark Place Auditorium on Saturday, October 20, 2018. The contest result will be announced at the People in Cyber Conference followed by an awards presentation.

Important Dates:

  • Sunday, September 23, 2018 - The last day of team registration
  • Friday, September 28, 2018 - The last day to submit concept documents
  • Monday, October 8, 2018 - The announcement of contest finalists
  • Saturday, October 20, 2018 - The final contest at the People in Cyber Conference
