Announcing the 1st Annual CS-Can Student Symposium.

The Student & Postdoc Advisory Committee (SPAC) of Computer Science Canada (CS-Can | Info-Can) is organizing the 1st Annual CS-Can Student Symposium in conjunction with the CS-Can | Info-Can 2019 Annual Meeting on June 2nd-4th at McGill University in Montreal, QC.

SPAC is inviting the entire Canadian computer science community (students, faculty and industry) to join them at the 2019 symposium.

The symposium will feature a series of inspiring lectures by CS-Can | Info-Can award winners (see the first cohort of 2018 winners here), a poster session showcasing emerging researchers from every field in computer science and engineering, a set of workshop talks devoted to addressing challenges facing Canadian computer scientists and engineers (e.g., the under-representation of women and minorities) and a lightning pitch presentation session.

There will be three types of lightning pitches: the first two will introduce the upcoming poster presentations and workshop talks, and the third will provide anyone attending (but not otherwise presenting) with the opportunity to pitch an idea or their work.

We invite you to submit your contributions to any of the categories: workshop talk, poster presentation or lightning-pitch presentation. (Submissions to more than one category are possible.) To learn more about the 2019 CS-Can Student Symposium and see the calls for submissions, please visit: www.cscan-infocan.ca/spac/symposium.

Notification of acceptance: April 30th, 2019

Meeting Dates: June 2nd-4th, 2019
